Sunsets captured on water, trees silhouetted against a tropical night sky, puddles of light pooling around your lounge. Villa Mayavee’s lit softness accentuates the architect’s classic simplicity and the hosts’ warm hospitality.

Would you voluntarily share secrets under fluorescent lighting? With the drive for energy efficiency we are losing warmth, depth and texture in our night spaces. At Billyard Avenue we encased all the fixtures in brass; the result was energy efficiency and a glowing warm light.

A name synonymous with Thai quality, Jim Thompson Cuisine presents signature dishes from the many different kitchens of regional Thailand in a bed of rich, coloured, sumptuous light.

Human history helps connect us to our cities and ultimately, through ownership, makes our environment safer. As part of our Wellington Inner City Lighting Plan, we identified St Gerard as one of those buildings that helps build civic pride and define a city. We then brokered an agreement between the City and its owners that allowed St Gerard’s iconic status to be enjoyed by day and by night.

We designed this range of simple project lights to give creative people tools to deliver light at low cost. It introduced a new product: Fire Rated Paper, in which shades of modular and custom sizes could be made to order. We know it was successful because it has been copied often.

At the Sydney Opera House we designed and made the first in the range of Battery Lamps now famous across the globe. Here the lamp gave focus to each table; like firelight it illuminated faces and cocooned each table leaving the impressive view to remain visible beyond.

We first designed and made this lamp for the Sydney Opera House. Later we teamed with Neoz to help produce a range of lamps now often seen on dining tables around the world.

Sri Lanka has some wonderful local craftsmen. Using their skills we created a modern lighting system that delivers mood with elegance. The mix of modern detailing and traditional forms fit with the simple colonial Dutch lines of the building and its furnishings.

The Architect realised this design as a study of the letter L. We took this form and extended its use as illuminated pattern. Facade pattern is repeated in ceiling slots and light forms which give the building an integrated, designed aesthetic.

Even in our busy public spaces we need human scale. This tall atrium walkway down the middle of the IT campus locates lights of low intensity at low heights. Code light levels for safety are met without masking the sky visible through the glazed roof.
